Mechanics suggest tips for preparing your car for the heat

Knoxville, TN - Mechanics in Knoxville are urging people to make sure their cars are prepared for this weekend's heat surge.
They say the most important things to check are your car's coolant level, the condition of its hoses, and the condition of the belt.
Mechanics at Fisher Tire say a quick check can prevent a major problem down the road.
"It can leave you stranded on the side of the road with a car overheating and major mechanical issues as far as engine problems go," said Fisher Tire's manager Tony Bowman.
He says it's also important to check tire pressure and wear. Hot pavement can cause uneven wear.
