Mega Millions lottery winner comes forward

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Steve Tran says he called his boss and said he wouldn't come in to work "today, tomorrow or ever" after learning that he won $324 million in the Mega Millions jackpot.

Tran came forward Friday to claim his share of the $648 million jackpot, the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history. He told lottery officials he found the ticket to the Dec. 17 drawing in a pile on the top of his dresser earlier this week.

The delivery driver did not say where he lives. He bought the winning ticket at a gift shop in San Jose. He said he likes to visit the city because of its large Vietnamese population.

The other winner, Ira Curry, is from Georgia and came forward to claim her prize Dec. 18.
