KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Volunteers are manning the phones all day at West Town Mall in Knoxville trying to raise money to keep local seniors from going hungry.

They will be there from 6 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Monday for the Mobile Meals Telethon. All funds donated will go toward the Knox Co. Mobile Meals program.

Donations will be accepted in person or by phone at 865-690-3500. More information is available at

According to the agency, each meal costs $3.15 and it expects those prices to keep rising. The Mobile Meals program takes hot meals to seniors five days a week, including holidays.
