"Moonshine Mom" spreading volunteer spirit among charities

Aubrey's makes wings with Troy & Sons Whiskey

1/4 cup T&S Oak Reserve 818
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 oz butter
1 Tbl Texas Pete
1/2 Tbl apple cider vinegar.

We are going to start with the T&S and reduce it by half then add the butter and brown sugar followed by the hot sauce and vinegar. I'll also add a dash of T&S while we toss the wings just for a nice finish. It's a pleasure to have this opportunity and I look forward to meeting you both!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- She is the woman behind Troy & Sons Brands out of Asheville, North Carolina, but visits and supports charitable causes all over.

Troy spent many days in a Ronald McDonald House throughout the years, while two of her sons, who are severely handicapped, had to be hospitalized.

On June 22, she is giving back to RMH by being a sponsor of the Big Kahuna Wing Festival on June 22 at World's Fair Park. There will also be a tasting of her "spirits" in the VIP area. The festival is a fundraiser for the RMH and the Empty Stocking Fund.

Go to the Troy & Sons facebook page to find out how to score your free VIP tickets!

Troy Ball teamed up with Aubrey's Tony Slimp (both companies are sponsors for BKW Fest) on Local 8 News Thursday morning to share her story. Tony made a wing recipe using one of the three Troy & Son's whiskeys showing how the whiskey can be used in cooking! *Recipe below!
