GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Grainger County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a 34-year old mom and a 2-year old son died Monday morning after a house fire.
The fire happened in Brantley Acres off Helton Road.
No one else was inside the home at the time of the fire.
According to Chief Deputy Charles Biddle, it looks like a kerosene heater caused the fire. However the investigation into the fire remains open.
No names have been released.
This is the first fatal house fire in Grainger County this year.
Officials originally told us the younger victim was a girl but family members have told us the the victim is a boy.
