SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Technology is helping fans of the most visited national park in the United States plan their trip.
Smoky Mountain Travel Guide is a new smartphone application designed for both the iPhone and Android. This interactive guide, designed by Knoxville travel writer Katy Koontz, contains more than 200 entries. It includes sights and activities in the Smokies as well as attractions, restaurants, accommodations, and shopping in the surrounding communities.
“The app is fun because it’s interactive,” Koontz explains. “It gives turn-by-turn GPS directions and offers one-tap calling and links to websites and videos. Users can mark entries as favorites for easy reference, as well as leave comments and ask questions that I answer as soon as possible—often the same day.”
To download the app, search "Smoky Mountain Travel Guide" in your smartphone's app store. The cost is $2.99, and periodic updates are free.
