MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An East Tennessee church is trying to do more than just provide spiritual help to their community, now they will offer dental care as well.
First Baptist Church in downtown Morristown opened their new ministry center today, called First Love on Main.
Through the generosity of members, the building on Main Street was donated, and 9 local dentists are offering their time.
Senior Pastor Dr. Dean Haun says anyone in Hamblen County, who meets the federal poverty guidelines, can make an appointment for free dental care.
Pastor Haun said, "I don't think we can really have the heart of Christ, unless we have the heart for those who are less fortunate, and those who are poor, and those who, for maybe a lot of different circumstances, may have not been blessed like some others have."
The ministry center is also the office for Christian job corp. services, income tax assistance, and legal aid.
First Love on Main is located at 225 West Main Street, Morristown. If you are in Hamblen County, can call to make an appointment to see a dentist, or for one of the other services available at the center, call 423-289-1179. You can also email them at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
