KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Young Professionals of Knoxville (YPK) has extended the deadline to nominate local businesses for the inaugural Young Professional Impact Award to Oct. 11, 2013. YPK is launching the Impact Award to recognize local businesses that excel in supporting young professionals.
“We’re extending the deadline for the inaugural Young Professional Impact Award through October 11 to allow nominators some additional time to work on their nominations for this new community recognition,” said Danielle Benson, president-elect of YPK. “We appreciate those who are taking the time to submit nominations and recognize the local businesses that support young professionals in Knoxville, and we’re looking forward to announcing the winners.”
Since its inception in 2007, YPK has worked to make Knoxville the desired city for young professionals to service, unite and inspire. The 200 elite YPK members build philanthropy projects in Knoxville, create an outlet for knowledge, development and expression of ideas while supporting Knoxville’s community and business leaders.
Knoxville is enriched not only by outstanding young professionals, but by the community leaders who have mentored and guided them. The Impact Award will honor companies in four categories based on size, impact, philosophy, community involvement and overall leadership of young professionals. This award serves as appreciation and recognition to those companies that advance the mission of YPK.
The deadline for fully completed nominations has been extended to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11. Award winners will be announced in the Knoxville News Sentinel and honored at an YPK Membership event.
