Officers respond to breakfast-time attempted robbery at Krystal

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police are still searching for the man who robbed a south Knoxville fast food restaurant during breakfast hours Wednesday morning. K9 units were called in to help find the man who robbed the Krystal, 4100 Chapman Highway, around 6:30 a.m.

The store's manager told officers that the suspect walked in to the restaurant with his hand in his pocket like he was holding a gun. The manager said he was also holding a tire iron in the same hand.

After grabbing a bit, a small bit of cash, the suspect took off on foot toward Sam A. Duff Park, which is directly behind the store. Police think he may have gotten into a vehicle there.

The suspect was described as a 5'7" man, weighing around 175 lbs. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, black sweat pants with a white stripe down the leg, an orange bandana, and gardening gloves.
