UPDATE | One person dead, another hurt after South Knoxville motorcycle crash

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One person is dead and another is at UT Medical Center after a motorcycle wreck.

Police say a motorcycle and a small SUV crashed on Chapman Highway just north of East Dick Ford Lane around 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

The driver of the motorcycle, Zebediah Martin has died after being taken to the hospital.

His passenger Natalie Lyons was taken to the hospital, where she is in stable condition.

Neither the driver or the passenger of the SUV were injured. They've been identified as Johnnie and Patsy Gentry.

Southbound lanes were closed for more than two hours.

Once the investigation has been completed the file will be forwarded to the Knox County District Attorney General’s Office for review and determination of what, if any, charges will be filed.
