One woman is taking the lead to get rid of gangs in Knox County.
Thousands of gang members live here - some, responsible for recent murders.
The Gang 180, instead of creating crime, they're trying to destroy it.
"I try to reach young boys about 14," said creator of Water Angels - Stephanie Mitchum.
And if you think 14 is too young , Deputies tell me gang leaders, draw in kids half that age.
"We've seen them as young as 8," said Knox County Detective Tom Walker.
Right now there are 1,000 known gang members in Knox County
Deputies have more than 450 of those, locked up.
And that's why Stephanie Mitchum hopes to recruit at risk kids
into her gang before the streets do.
Gang 180 meets every Thursday at 6 o'clock at Angel Ministries on University Avenue.
