UPDATE: Overnight fire at historic downtown Madisonville building

MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Investigators are busy trying to figure out what caused an overnight fire in downtown Madisonville. The blaze broke out shortly after midnight.

The roof and second floor of the C.W. Hyatt building on Church Street was completely ruined in the fire. No one was inside at the time of the fire.

A few small fires rekindled late Monday morning as firefighters checked for hot spots. They have managed to keep those in check.

The Southeast Tennessee Red Cross provided refreshments to the nearly 70 first responders who were called to the scene.
