Painting for Horse Haven brings in hundred$

WEST KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- "Painting with a Twist" opened it's studio recently to help raise money for abused and neglected horses of Tennessee.

Money raised during a "Painting with a Purpose" event is going to Local 8 News' Allie Spillyards' efforts to raise money and awareness for Horse Haven of Tennessee.

Allie, and colleagues Amanda Hara and Lauren Davis were part of the step by step painting class taught by instructor Barry Jenkins.

They helped raise close to $600 for Horse Haven Tennessee.

Special thanks to Patty Walden, Owner of PWAT, and art instructor Scott Brantley.

The actual dance competition is Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Knoxville Mariott Downtown.

Allie also has fundraisers planned involving Synergy Car Wash in Farragut and Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza.
