Pedestrian fighting for life after being hit in Downtown Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle around 12:15 PM Tuesday on Henley Street at Clinch Avenue.

Witnesses say the unidentified man ran out into the southbound lanes while trying to dodge traffic.

Police say he was hit by 27-year-old Kristy Florida. He went up onto her windshield before falling to the ground.

He was taken to U.T. Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Officers say Florida will not be charged.

They say the area is clearly marked telling walkers not to cross the street.
