KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - AAA projects 34.8 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this weekend. That's a .9 percent decrease from last year.
Of those that travel, most will be driving, with an average distance of 690 miles.
"Me and my dad and my brother will probably go up to Rural Blue. It's about 30, 40 minutes away, up towards Kentucky. We go up there and ride dirt bikes a lot, it's a lot of fun," said Dustin Brown.
Troopers will be cracking down on drunk drivers, speeders, those texting while driving and people not wearing their seat belts. They'll be out in full force all weekend.
