It happened at his house around midnight Monday. As Norton got home, he found 18 year-old Zachary Rattler had broken in and Norton was staring into a hunting rifle. Norton says, "I don't know why, but I grabbed the gun and hit him twice. I disarmed him while he crouched on floor."
He called 911 and told Rattler to stay on the ground but the teen stabbed him in the side. Norton says, "I didn't know I got stabbed till I felt the blood running down my side."
He also cut Toby's arm then slashed his throat. Norton says, "When he cut my throat it just felt hot. I felt the knife go to the inside of my mouth."
Norton ran out the front door and Rattler took off in Norton's truck. The cops got Rattler after he went down a dead end street. Lauren Davis asked Norton how he survived the attack. He answered, "Pure adrenaline."
