KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- For all of you who get Labor Day off there are a number of family friendly events going on in East Tennessee.
If you are a runner, there's the Hal Canfield Memorial Mile and 5 Miler. It kicks off at 7:30 in Sequoyah Hills.
The 2012 Great Tennessee Valley Rubber Duck Race takes off with the "duck drop" at noon. It starts at 10:30 at World's Fair Park.
It's also a chance to cheer "Hooray for Harriman". The fun goes from 10 till 4 in downtown.
The Sevier County Fair opens at 3 o'clock.
And in Downtown Knoxville, the Mighty Wurlitzer will fill the Tennessee Theater with holiday sounds. The doors open at 11:30 for the 6th annual Labor Day performance.
The Jazz on the Square series will conclude with a Labor Day concert featuring the entire Knoxville Jazz Orchestra at 8:00 p.m. at the Bill Lyon Pavilion on Market Square. The performance will feature works by Jimmy Van Heusen, Jerome Kern, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, Donald Brown, and more.
