Police looking for driver who hit two children with car

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Police are searching for a driver who hit two children riding in a go-cart.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says that a boy and girl were riding along Henry Haynes Road in South Knox County around 8:00 pm.

They made the turn onto Babs Road, and that's when a driver hit the front of their go-cart. But instead of helping the kids, the driver took off.

The children were rushed to UT Medical Center, but police say they have non-life threatening injuries. KCSO says neither child was wearing a seat belt, and that the boy had a helmet on, but the girl did not.

The suspect is believed to be driving a black Nissan Sentra that probably has a broken headlight and damage to the driver's side front bumper.

You can call KCSO at 865-215-2243 if you have any information.
