Police capture suspected killer in S. Knoxville homicide

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Chattanooga Police and the US Marshall Service arrested suspected murderer Jamar Laquinn Frazier.

He was found with a girlfriend in Chattanooga. On Tuesday night, police were working to bring Frazier back to Knoxville.

Police said Frazier was involved in the death of Christopher Melton on July 3, 2012.

19 year-old Melton's body was found in South Knoxville across from an apartment complex. Authorities said he had been shot.

After talking to witnesses, officers pulled over a red Jeep Cherokee on Maryville Pike and Ogle Ave. just after 4 p.m. and detained three people for questioning.

Police say 23-year-old Jessica Foust admitted to driving the suspect in the shooting away from the scene, and police charged her with accessories after the fact.
