GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Greeneville police are searching for the man who robbed a local bank at gunpoint shortly before noon on Monday.
Authorities were called to the Greeneville Federal Bank, 2305 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy., around 11:40 a.m. They said a man covering his face and carrying a handgun entered the bank and demanded cash.
He escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. Authorities said he may have left in a newer style, full-size, standard cab Chevrolet pickup truck that may have been black with body damage on the right rear quarter panel.
No customers were in the bank at the time and no injuries were reported.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white man, approximately 5'10"-6' tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and dark-colored pants, dark sunglasses, white latex gloves, and a mask.
