Ali Baba closes for good Tuesday after 40 years

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Ali Baba's Time Out Deli on Kingston Pike is closing after 40 years in business.

Since the 70's, Nabih Aqaad has been dishing up Mediterranean food for the masses. Now the time has come to say goodbye.

Working 7 days a week for four decades has taken it's toll.

"People think it's easy but it's not," said Aqaad.

He says he doesn't want his children to take over the business.

"Kids it's like hard work, they don't want hard work," said Aqaad.

Through it all, he has enjoyed his job and his customers.

"Thank you everybody, of Knoxville for supporting Ali Baba for 40 years," said Aqaad.

Ali Baba's will close March 19.
