POWELL, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The lock down at Powell High School has been lifted.
The school was placed on a soft lock down early Thursday afternoon after what school administrators described as a "vague" threat.
Knox Co. Schools spokesperson Melissa Ogden said members of Knox Co. Schools and the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office are investigating.
As part of the soft lock down procedure, all outside doors were locked and no one was allowed in or out of the building.
Soft lock downs differentiate from standard or hard lock downs in which all doors, including classroom doors are locked.
