WVLT- Knox county schools confirmed they are investigating an assault on a teacher at Powell High School.
Kenneth Davis, the teacher, was assaulted by a 15-year-old student while talking to him in the hallway. The assault happened around 3pm Monday afternoon.
The Knox county sheriff's department responded and arrested the student. The 15-year-old has not been charged as of yet, but if he's found guilty, he faces a year of expulsion and criminal charges.
Davis was treated for minor injuries and has returned back to work.
The incident is still being investigated.
