DOWNTOWN KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - In downtown Knoxville, hundreds are celebrating Pridefest, which has taken over Market Square.
The event is a celebration of equality and promoting the inclusion of the LGBT community around Knoxville.
Floats paraded down Gay Street this afternoon.
Taylor Dayne is the headliner for the concerts that will be playing throughout the evening.
"We can actually stand somewhere and say, 'Hey this is who I am, so if you don't like it, get over it' basically," said V. Moore, a Pridefest supporter.
"I think every year Pridefest grows, and I think there are many people out here, gay and straight, that are out here to recognize this diversity and celebrate," said Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero.
Pridefest will continue downtown until 10:00 Saturday night.
