GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Gatlinburg man hopes to bring attention to the closure of the national park through a protest.
Jeramiah Spelas has been going around Gatlinburg trying to get people to join is protest on Saturday.
"I don't think it's going to open up the parks, but I do think it's going to convince people we do have a say and we can make a difference," said Spelas. "They dedicated the land to us as the American people, the people the land was taken away from they were promised to always have access. Now they're denied access and denied access to the graves of their loved ones."
The protest is Saturday at 10 a.m. in front of the sign at the Gatlinburg entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
