KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Hundreds of Amherst Elementary students enjoyed a relaxing and fun rally this afternoon before a stressful week of TCAP testing.
The rally featured a superhero and UT football players, all trying to make sure the students aren't too worried about the upcoming tests.
Skits taught them the importance of staying focused, getting a good night's sleep, eating a good breakfast and staying confident.
"Kids are under stress, so much stress with these tests. We really wanted to give them something that was going to kind of ease that a little bit. Nothing that was going to distract them and keep them off focus - just a little something to let them know that we're behind them and we want them to succeed," said Logan Elliott, a third grade teacher.
The rally also taught the kids the importance of filling the circles inside the bubble on test sheets.
The TCAP tests start on Monday.
