NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Some heat records across Tennessee could wilt as torrid conditions build across the weekend.
The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures into the hundreds statewide.
Expected 104-degree readings Friday afternoon at Memphis and Nashville would topple old marks of 101 and 103 respectively. If Knoxville reaches expected 100-degree highs on Saturday and Sunday, that would tie records for the dates.
No rain is in the forecast until a paltry 20 percent chance shows up going into Independence Day
