SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- If you are into recycling in Sevierville, you'll need to be aware that the bins have been moved for a short time.
The Public Works Department says the bins have been moved behind the Community Center. You can access the bins through Railroad Street. The bins were previously located in the shared Police /Community Center parking lot at the Municipal Complex.
The Public Works Department also reminds citizens of the types of materials which may be dropped in the bins.
v Cardboard - Corrugated cardboard only (pizza boxes are acceptable as long as all food scraps have been removed).
v Plastics, Aluminum & Tin Cans - Plastics 1-7 (no plastic bags, plastic sheeting, styrofoam, or garden hose)
v Mixed Paper - Includes office paper, junk mail, cereal, cracker, and drink boxes, gift wrap, etc.(when this bin is full mixed paper can be placed in the Newspaper/Magazine bin).
Please do not bag recyclables; this uses valuable space in the container and the recycling company does not recycle plastic bags or plastic film of any type.
