Temperatures will be falling between now and Wednesday morning. Widespread frost and a hard freeze should arrive by 7 AM Wednesday with lows in the mid to upper 20s. Bundle up, bring in the pets and the potted plants.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The weather about to slam Atlanta has some people already stranded at the Greyhound bus station in Knoxville.
But they're getting help. Volunteers with the American Red Cross stepped up and provided food and blankets for the night.
Volunteers say they are keeping an eye on the weather situation locally - and will provide help where needed.
"If we see a lot of power outages people who aren't able to stay warm, people who aren't able to have food ready then we would consider opening a shelter. We're going to work with our first responders, our EMA partners and if there is a need to open a shelter we'll definitely do that for the community," Red Cross spokesperson Ben Prijatel told Local 8 News.
He also said the Red Cross is always looking for donations. Just drop them by their offices.
