KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT)- Another new public housing development is finished in the Five Points area of Knoxville.
This is one of many phases KCDC is working on to revitalize that area.
There are two six unit buildings, each one will house 12 families.
They're equipped with energy efficient appliances and each one has two large bedrooms.
Tuesday, city and county officials cut the ribbon to officially open these buildings.
Alvin Nance, Executive Director and CEO of Knoxville's Community Development Corporation says this is just a small step in a big picture, "This is our first phase of family style units in this community so we're really excited about this because the families get to move in with their kids directly behind the park."
People will start moving in as early as next month.
