A rolling roadblocks threatens to disrupt rush hour traffic on I-75 in Campbell Co. on Wednesday. The roadblocks will allow TDOT crews to perform blasting operations at Mile Marker 157 near Jellico.
According to TDOT, the slow moving roadblock will affect northbound traffic first. Starting at 6:00 p.m., authorities will hold up traffic at Exit 134 (Caryville/LaFollette) before proceeding at around 25 m.p.h. The roadblock is expected to last about an hour.
Around 6:25 p.m. the southbound roadblock is set to begin in Kentucky. Starting at Exit 11, the roadblock will move south at about 40 m.p.h. It's only expected to last about 25 minutes.
Between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the entrance ramps onto I-75 North from Exit 141 (Huntsville/Oneida) and Exit 144 (Stinking Creek) and onto I-75 South from Exit 160 (Jellico) will close.
After completing the blast, crews will work to remove debris and trim and overhanging or loose material.
