Salt trucks loaded, ready for snow/ice

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- TDOT trucks are loaded with salt and ready to hit the roads early Wednesday morning.

Some salt trucks were already out in full force late Tuesday evening in Campbell County, where there were reports of ice on I-75.

Crews rested Tuesday afternoon to prepare for a long night.

Mark Nagi with TDOT said crews will be paying special attention to higher elevations, bridges and overpasses.

Nagi also says he hopes drivers do their part, "What we ask the public to do is take your time, if you have to drive tonight or tomorrow give yourself time to get to where you need to go because there's going to be a lot of people on the roadways."
