UNION CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Divers are searching in a gravel pit for a West Tennessee bulldozer operator after his machine fell into about 25 feet of water.
KYTN Radio reported the 64-year-old Weakley County man was running the bulldozer Wednesday afternoon when it fell into the water.
Obion County Sheriff Jerry Vastbinder said attempts to drain the water were unsuccessful and divers did not find a body Wednesday afternoon.
A dive team from Shelby County, which has sonar equipment, has been called into the search.
The operator's name wasn't immediately released, but Vastbinder said the man was an experienced dozer operator and was a 28-year employee of Ford Construction Company.
