JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Johnson City say a package addressed to a former East Tennessee State University basketball player contained more than $10,000 in cash.
The Johnson City Press reported city police got a warrant to open the parcel and did so on Thursday. It was addressed to Marcus DuBose. A campus postal supervisor opened another package addressed to DuBose on Nov. 19 and found what appeared to be marijuana.
Authorities charged DuBose with possession of drugs for resale and possession of paraphernalia. DuBose's roommate, Sheldon Cooley, was charged with paraphernalia possession.
DuBose and Cooley were dismissed from the ETSU basketball team and officials said they have since withdrawn from school.
The money found in the package last week was turned over to the district drug task force.
