Fire damages Sevier Co. heat treating facility | UPDATE

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Thursday night fire damaged a heat treating facility in Sevier County.

The fire broke out around 9:40 at Parker Trutec - MMI on River Bend Drive, off Newport Highway.

Firefighters arrived to find about 25-percent of the building on fire.

Around 30 employees were inside at the time. All of them made it out safely.

Crews determined that no dangerous chemicals were inside the building and power has been restored. They also say the building only sustained minor damage.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Several agencies responded including Sevier County Fire Department, Sevierville Fire Department, Pigeon Forge Fire Department, Caton's Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, and Northview Kodak Volunteer Fire Department.
