GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Gatlinburg streets were busy all day Tuesday with people getting ready for a New Year's Eve celebration.
Gatlinburg has planed events all evening with fireworks off the Space Needle at midnight.
"Huge night for us here in Gatlinburg, we're getting ready, the stage is going up, people are already pouring into town. It's going to be a huge huge new year's eve," said Chad Netherland.
Netherland plans to show his strongman abilities with a live demonstration.
"It's going to be a lot of stuff that you've seen through Ripley's through the years, I'm going to do the live bullet catch, I'm going to hold 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles from taking off at full throttle," said Netherland.
In Pigeon Forge, The Island is planning an evening for the whole family and some VIP experiences. Tickets have sold out for midnight rides on the wheel and limited space was available at Timberwood Grill.
Outside, there's plans on turn on a new $3 million fountain. A free fireworks show will also be a part of the night.
"They shoot anywhere from 30 to 60 feet They're full synchronized to music and have lights and color as well. So it's really a great sight to see out here," said Summer Wilson, The Island Spokesperson. "We try to bring the best experience possible to Pigeon Forge and leave lasting memories and hope families will want to return from year to year."
Gatlinburg plans to close the Parkway streets at 10pm for the festivities.
