SEYMOUR, Tenn. (WVLT) A Seymour family has lost everything in a Wednesday night house fire, but says they are thankful that no one was hurt.
Tommy and Vickey Sutton came home to their house in flames and immediately called 911.
Thursday morning they came back to their property to see the extent of the damage and try to salvage anything they could find.
"I don't know what we're going to do. Don't have any idea," Tommy said.
The home sits high on a hill on Staghorn Lane in Seymour and still had small flames visible from the rubble Thursday morning. The Suttons were not able to find anything worth saving in the mess.
Sutton says his oldest daughter has special needs and loves to ride her bicycle. It was tough for him to see the charred remains of the bike sitting in his front lawn.
"It'll get you down in your stomach," he said.
The Sutton's church family and pastor have begun a collection for the family to help get them back on their feet.
You can donate items to the family by dropping them off at Dupont Baptist Church at 1711 Dupont Road in Seymour.
You can also call Pastor Danny Murr at 865-712-3922 for more information on what the family needs.
