KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a three-year-old girl.
In a release, Sheriff Robbie Goins says an autopsy shows the toddler had current and previous injuries.
Goins says investigators are working diligently to determine how that girl died.

In reference to the death of the 3 year old female Tuesday night, this case remains under an active and ongoing investigation. The autopsy performed yesterday revealed several injuries to the child. Those injuries were consistent with dated and current injuries, according to the medical examiner.
Sadly, this is a complex case that has to be done right and put together solidly. Our investigators have worked non-stop with little rest, as we should expect them to. We have also and will continue to, work together with every agency involved, DCS, the DA’s office and medical professionals, as well as, utilize every resource we have available. There is mounds of work to do in these complex cases.
We will continue to investigate, gather evidence, interview, work with and meet with professionals until the cases conclusion and resolution. We have and will be restrictive with the information we release to protect the integrity of the investigation.
