KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Knox County Sheriff's Office employee was suspended after he seized tickets from Georgia fans at Neyland Stadium and gave them to other people.
The investigation began after a Georgia woman emailed the University of Tennessee Police Department about tickets to the Oct. 5 Georgia-Tennessee game that she said were confiscated.
49-year-old Odell Majors admitted to investigators he did not know department policies regarding confiscated property.
Investigators also found that Majors had failed to file a request to work off-duty for the game.
He was suspended for two days without pay, and he lost his certification from the state Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.
Although Majors was certified as a police officer, he was hired as a counselor in the corrections unit.
