SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Thousands of eager shoppers converged on Tanger Five Oaks in Sevierville Thursday night to find a Black Friday deal.
Many stores offered deep discounts and Dustbuster savings to get people into buy. The Tanger Center opened at 10pm on Thursday and people poured in to see what they could find.
Sevierville Police officers directed traffic at stop lights around Tanger to help people get in and out. Also, hundreds of people had to park miles away because there were no other parking spaces.
"We're going to be all over this place looking for bargains, saving money, having fun being together," said Lavonda Robinette. "We are buying, and we're buying because it is 60% off and the weather's perfect."
Robinette and her family decided to turn Thanksgiving into a vacation weekend in the smokies. She says Black Friday shopping has been a tradition for her family.
Tanger plans on staying open through 10pm on Friday.
