Students back in class after evacuation at Blount Co. school

WALLAND, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Blount Co. Elementary School was evacuated early Monday morning, officials said. They said they smelled something strange coming from a classroom.

Firefighters and members of the Blount Co. Sheriff's Office responded to Wallands Elementary School, 247 E Millers Cove Rd., around 7:15 a.m.

After checking out the classroom, they allowed students to return to class.
