KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police say 73-year-old Fred Thomas has been charged with one count of Attempted First Degree Murder. Thomas is being held on $50,000 bond.
Knoxville police say a preliminary investigation indicates two men and one woman were arguing when the argument escalated to a physical fight that left one man injured.
According to reports, one man, Billy Swann, was hit in the head with a hammer and stabbed with a knife.
"I looked out my window and seen the cop cars were outside. Saw one of the guys - he was all bloody. A few other people were getting arrested," said Coon.
The investigation includes two separate apartments, although police are not disclosing whether those occupants were involved in the fight.
Swann was transported to UT Medical Center and was listed in serious condition at the time this article was written.
The investigation continues.
