KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knox Co. Mayor Tim Burchett dropped by a couple of local radio stations Monday morning to announce the headliners for SouthFest, the two-day event designed to draw music lover to the other side of the Tennessee River.
"There's a perception in other parts of the county that it's just too hard to get to South Knoxville because of the extended bridge closure," said Tim Burchett. "We want to bring people out south for this event so they'll realize the detour is not hard to navigate."
The fun begins Friday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. outside Emory's 5&10 on Chapman Highway. The night's main attraction, Homer Hart, takes the stage at 6:15 p.m. You can hear his new single "Pickup Truck" on his website (link below) and on Q93.1.
Gates open again on at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, with Phoenix Stone set to perform at 3:15 p.m. The video for his song "100 Proof Moonshine" is on his website and his song is playing on 107.7 WIVK.
