GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) – Visitors to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park were up in November by 8.6%, compared to November 2011.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park recorded 657,935 visitors during November 2012 which is an 8.6 % increase, or 52,192 more visitors, over November 2011.
According to park officials, 9,204,736 people have visited the park this year, also up over last year by 7.8%.
November 2012 Visitors by Entrance:
Gatlinburg: 230,089
Townsend: 91,239
Cherokee: 131,973
Outlying Areas: 204,634
According to park officials, visitation for October was actually up slightly over 2011. An earlier release said visitation was down in Ocotober.
