KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A new mobile clinic is coming to East Tennessee to provide free medical care for those who need it most.
One of the doctors on board will be Sister Mariana Koonce of the Diocese of Knoxville.
"We know there are so many needs out there and so many people who can utilize these services," Sister Mariana Kooce. "We're excited that we've been gifted with this opportunity to meet some of those needs."
The St. Mary's Legacy Foundation is launching the new mobile clinic.
The van has already been ordered for the St. Mary's Legacy Clinic and plans are underway to begin building and staffing it.
"It will be coming to the road and our community very soon in the fall but there's a lot of work that needs to be done between now and then," said John Deinhart, Director of Stewardship and Strategic Planning of the Diocese of Knoxville.
The goal is to serve 29 out of 36 counties served by the Diocese of Knoxville.
For more information on the clinic you can call the Diocse of Knoxville at: 865-584-3307.
