Alcoa, Tenn. (WVLT) - Alcoa police and Blount County SWAT team members safely entered a Watt Street home and took a man into custody after a three-hour standoff Tuesday afternoon.

The man was identified as 56-year-old Michael Pidgeon. His wife, Keri Edwards, called police after leaving the home.

She told Local 8 News he pointed a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her and her four young daughters that lived with the couple. She said this was the end of two months of strange behavior.

She also said most of the controversy surrounded her car. She wouldn't let him drive it, because she said he has been known to drive drunk.

SWAT team members entered the home after several failed attempts to reach Pigeon via cell phone. They found him in a downstairs bedroom and police say he was arrested with little struggle.

Several homes were evacuated during the incident, but everyone returned home after Pidgeon's arrest.

Pigeon is now in the Blount County jail. He had several outsanding traffic warrants and could be facing aggravated assault charges.
