State St. garage escalator closing next week to make way for walkway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- As part of its effort to add more than 200 parking spaces to State Street Parking Garage, the City of Knoxville plans to close the escalator connecting State St. and Gay St., next to the Regal Riviera movie theater next week.
