Students take Alexander T. Wolf to court

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- We all know the story of the Three Little Pigs and the big bad wolf who blows their houses down. But is that the real story? A trial held Tuesday by students at The Episcopal School of Knoxville helped to find out the truth behind the tale.

For a month, the 1st grade students have been studying different Three Little Pig tales and learning how a trial works. To finish up the lesson; the students act out a trial between the City of Pigville and Alexander T. Wolf.

Students from Ms. Jenkins 3rd grade class served as the jury and heard testimony from nearly 20 witnesses in the city of Pigville. The 1st grade teacher, Mr. Bishop asked the questions and the judge was another teacher named Ms. Leslie O'Tool. At the end of the trial the jury deliberated only to find the wolf guilty.

The character names and story line for the trial came from a book called "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" by Jon Scieszka; just one of the many books the students read.

This trial has been a 15 year tradition for Mr. Bishop's 1st grade class and in those years; the wolf was found guilty 10 times.
