KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- A fire broke out Sunday morning in the 3700 block of Speedway Circle, in Knoxville.
Dispatchers received the call from a neighbor just before 9:15 this morning. According to KFD Captain D.J Corcoran, a man in his early fifty's was living in the home with no power.
He woke up to the smell of smoke. At that time he jumped out of his bedroom window to avoid the flames that were blocking the normal exit.
The man was taken to UT Medical Center for non life threatening injuries.
Arson Investigators are on scene to determine how the fire started.
