MARLOW, Tenn. (WVLT) - Police are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Anderson County.

The shooting happened near Pine Ridge Road in Clinton.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says an Anderson County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed a suspect while on duty.

Police say that when the deputy made a traffic stop for a non-moving violation, the driver fled on foot, and the pursuit began.

The TBI says there was a physical struggle between the deputy and the suspect, and the suspect was shot.

The Sheriff's deputy was rushed to Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge to be treated for non-serious injuries.

TBI still hasn't identified the suspect killed. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office has yet to release the name of the deputy involved.

The investigation is ongoing, and the TBI says it will be turned over to the District Attorney's office once it is complete.
